TEDx is essentially a grassroots movement, with over 30,000 events having been held across the globe to date. TEDx events come in all shapes and sizes, and have been held everywhere from famous opera houses to the most remote regions of the world. Each is coordinated independently. TED lends its name and a set of guidelines. These local organizers and their dedicated teams, composed mainly of volunteers, do the rest.
